|“Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe. A spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble”
I know that some people may not want to read on at this point, as the idea of having lived before, or to live again may be totally alien to them. I respect your right to this decision.
For the rest of you who either believe in reincarnation, or have opened their mind to the fact that not everything can be proved scientifically, or for those who have had an out of body experience and want to learn more, please read on…
|“If Science can disprove reincarnation, Tibetan Buddhism would abandon reincarnation…but it’s going to be mighty hard to disprove reincarnation”
Reincarnation derived from Latin, means to enter the flesh again. Many eastern religions believe that the soul, spirit or Atman, continues on after the biological death of the body. The concept of birth, death and rebirth is strong in Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism. This thinking has also featured in the past, with historical figures such as Pythagoras, Plato and Socrates. It can still be found in tribal societies in Australia, West Africa, North America and Siberia.
The concept of reincarnation has also been a found with the pagans, the Celtics and contemporary Christians and more recently in the west. Research by Dr Ian Stephenson shows that 20 to 30 percent of westerners who may be Christian also believe in reincarnation. For those interested in research in this field please look at the work of Dr Ian Stephenson, Director of the Division of Personality Studies at the University of West Virginia. His work did not use hypnotherapy, but strict scientific protocol for his research.
